Single phase cables offer a maximum charge of 7.4kW which is more than twice the speed of a domestic 3 pin charger.

3 phase cables offer a maximum charge of 22kW when connected to a 3 phase supply. 3 phase cables will also work on a single phase supply charging at 7.4kW

In most cases, 3 phase chargers are found at business premises and public charging points. Domestic chargers (at home) are usually limited by single phase supply.
