Data sheet

Our IEC/CEE connectors are now tested and certified under the international standard IEC 60 309, which has been developed in the IEC standardisation organisation (International Electrotechnical Commission).

This worldwide standard is systematically applied to all GARO products. The use of this
standard eliminates the possibility of incorrect connections, regardless of the
circumstances.

The standardised products are colour-coded according to a clock face,
where the clock positions (1 to 12) correspond to the earth socket position
in the socket, viewed from the front, with the locating groove always at the 6
o’clock position. Each position corresponds to a voltage and frequency value
of each 2, 3 and 4 pole socket with rated currents of 16A, 32A, 63A and 125A
and voltages of >50V to 690V

GARO plugs and sockets are tested and certified and comply with the following international and national standards, among others:
IEC 60 309-2, IEC 60 309-1, SS EN 60309-1, SS EN 60309-2, CEE17, SEMKO 117, VDE 0623, BS 4343, EN 50 250

Frequently asked questions

How long will it take to charge my car?

There is a quick calculation you can do to determine the charging time. If you divide the size of the car battery by the kW's that the charging equipment is capable of, this will give you your charge time (0-100%)

A simple example is that one of our 3 Pin portable chargers which can delivery 3kW per hour will take 10hrs to fully charge a car with a 30kW battery (30/3). As always, if in doubt please feel free to contact us anytime and we will be happy to help

What is your delivery time?

We send all our deliveries using a next working day delivery. We state 1-2 days to allow for a variable collection times each day. Usually, if you order before 12pm (midday) you would usually receive your item the next working day. For example if you order on a Friday morning you will receive your item on the Monday.

Will this work with my car?

Most vehicles in the UK are Type 2 connections (especially post 2018) and all our Type 2 products are compatible. If you scroll to the top of this product page we have a handy vehicle checker available for you to use. If you cannot find your vehicle on the list, fell free to contact us and we will quickly be able to confirm this for you.

What is your warranty period?

We offer a 2 year warranty on all products (unless specifically stated). The warranty is managed directly by us so we usually turn around any issues within a couple of days. If you have any specific questions about our warranties, please contact us anytime

What cable length should I go for?

There are two main considerations when choosing the best cable length.

1. The cable should run loosely along the ground to reduce the risk if tripping. If the distance between your power source and your car is 7-8 metres, go for a 10 metre cable.

2. Think about where you are likely to charge your car the second most often and make sure you allow enough cable to reach your power source at both locations comfortably
