This charger connects directly to a 16A CEE commando socket. For added flexibility, you can pair it with a 16A‑to‑13A adaptor (available on our EV accessories page) to charge from any UK domestic 3‑pin socket. When using the adaptor, simply set the charger to 13A or lower.

How long will it take to charge my car?

There is a quick calculation you can do to determine the charging time. If you divide the size of the car battery by the kW's that the charging equipment is capable of, this will give you your charge time (0-100%)

A simple example is that one of our 3 Pin portable chargers which can delivery 3kW per hour will take 10hrs to fully charge a car with a 30kW battery (30/3). As always, if in doubt please feel free to contact us anytime and we will be happy to help

What is your delivery time?

We send all our deliveries using a next working day delivery. We state 1-2 days to allow for a variable collection times each day. Usually, if you order before 12pm (midday) you would usually receive your item the next working day. For example if you order on a Friday morning you will receive your item on the Monday.

Will this work with my car?

Most vehicles in the UK are Type 2 connections (especially post 2018) and all our Type 2 products are compatible. If you scroll to the top of this product page we have a handy vehicle checker available for you to use. If you cannot find your vehicle on the list, fell free to contact us and we will quickly be able to confirm this for you.

What is your warranty period?

We offer a 2 year warranty on all products (unless specifically stated). The warranty is managed directly by us so we usually turn around any issues within a couple of days. If you have any specific questions about our warranties, please contact us anytime

What cable length should I go for?

There are two main considerations when choosing the best cable length.

1. The cable should run loosely along the ground to reduce the risk if tripping. If the distance between your power source and your car is 7-8 metres, go for a 10 metre cable.

2. Think about where you are likely to charge your car the second most often and make sure you allow enough cable to reach your power source at both locations comfortably.

Great charger, Fantastic service.

I don’t often write positive reviews. People/companies have to really excel, otherwise I think they are just doing what they should.

I love the charger. Makes my dumb 22 plate MG5 compatible with Octopus smart tariffs. It also works really well with functions my old charger just didn’t have.

My main reason for the review though, was the amazingly helpful lady who helped prioritise my delivery by giving the warehouse a call, as she knew I was needing it urgently because my provider, (Eon) were suspended access to their backend for a month and I managed to find an installer at short notice (and I suspect that my being polite and grateful for any help may have helped). Note to people out there: Politeness costs nothing, and neither does gratitude.

Would definitely recommend on the basis of service (from the lady who helped me) alone.

Good portable charger, with room for improvement.

I upgraded to this 16A charger from your 13A version and I'm glad I did, not only because I can get almost half the charging rate of a "proper" 7kW wall-box, but the display is much clearer (the 13A one was impossible to read in bright light), and it has the ability to delay up to 12 hours (the 13A only allowed a maximum of 5h). It's good that it still allows you to choose a rate as low as 6A even though it can go up to 16A; this means that I can tune it to the contribution that my solar panels make. What I would quite like, though, is the ability to change the current selection while it's charging instead of only at the outset. As it is, I need to stop charging, re-select, and start again, which is a bit of a faff.

Upgraded charger

This is an upgraded version of their previous charger. The cable entry appears to be water tight and it has added DC leakage protection. Only time will tell if it lasts longer than the previous version.

The 16A EV charger I bought carries an IP67 rating (with an IP44 16A mains connector) so the unit itself should be waterproof to a depth of 1m, the plug should stand rain. However after a couple of weeks use outdoors in occasional rain, more than 100ml of water accreted in the unit - the exact ingress route is not clear but with a rating of IP67 this should not be possible. It is interesting that inside the unit (which I opened up to asses the problem) there is water ingress detecting label which states [sic] ""Attention: This label will turn red when get wet No warranty if product got water in!"" Which implies that the manufacturer has no faith in (or is not prepared to warranty) the IP rating printed on the product. Perhaps this should be raised with trading standards?
